People walk in a hurry. Even when they are choosing stuff in stores and booths, there is that irritating rush. Only the lovers in the streets seem to be indifferent with time. Sometimes they kiss while trams and taxis pass by. They don't mind. Perhaps they are happy. Together. Not rushing. I don't understand why.

Central Hong Kong and Wan Chai are hell places. There are many Filipinos there but I felt more alienated around the streets there than around Kowloon and Causeway Bay. I didn't last an hour there. All I loved were the red walls at the MTR station. MTR stations are almost always crowded. Each station is color-coded. Only the red in Central Hongkong made me feel like I was at home.

The streets are flooded with old men and women, stooped down in work, serving dishes in restaurants, driving cabs and trams, or walking around in their heavy sweaters and jackets.

Kids are almost always in trolleys. Their eyes are the ones I love looking at the most. Not innocent, just waiting there, not afraid.
